My name is Jackie and I have loved photography for as long as I can remember. (Let’s just say I took my first photography class in Junior High.) Ask anyone who knows me and they’ll say that they see me attached to my camera much of the time and most are surprised when I don’t have my camera with me somewhere.
Right now, my office is in my home, where we homeschool the oldest 4 of our 5 children, so don’t be surprised to hear kids in the background when you call. :) I promise you, though, that when we’re doing your session, that I am all yours and will be absolutely professional. I offer studio space in urban downtown Grand Rapids, where I love shooting, but I also do many session outdoors or on location.
For you, my client, I desire a high-quality, unique portrait on your wall that captures you, your child or family as you (they) really are- your true personality! A portrait to be cherished and enjoyed for many years.
I am all about finding unique places to do your photo session and trying out fun poses, too! My goal is for my subject(s) to be relaxed and enjoy their photo shoot. A favorite location, clothing and/or special item makes for some of the best portraits. We have a good time during your session- I want it to be a positive experience that you’ll fondly remember. (I really try hard not to torture anyone! 
)
Our photo shoot will be unrushed and relaxed- I will figure ample time for each session. You can take time for clothing changes, settling kids or feeding the baby.
I don’t know what my favorite subject is, but I do know that I take many pictures of children! (Having 5 of my own makes me a bit of an expert!) Capturing those first newborn moments is a very special opportunity. Call me when you are getting close to your due date, so I can keep some time open for baby’s first photo shoot within the first 2 weeks of life. I have a special place in my heart for newborn sessions.
Also, don’t forget to capture the special time of being pregnant. There is nothing as beautiful as a belly with a baby in it! A portrait of mom alone or with husband and other children will be a keepsake you’ll be glad you did.
High school seniors are another favorite because it’s a once-in-a-lifetime phase in their life and it’s a fun, edgy session, with much adventuring going on. Seniors have a special energy and I love “playing” with clothing changes and fun locations!
I love the energy of a wedding day- capturing that special day is a privilege and honor that I don’t take lightly. The many emotions of the day are my goals to capture forever.
I’m located in West Michigan and am available for all of your professional photography needs here and for destination jobs. I have earned my CPP (Certified Professional Photographer) this past year. I’m a member of PPA (Professional Photographers of America, Inc.), PPM (Professional Photographers of Michigan) and a Board Member of PPWM (Professional Photographers of Western Michigan)
